A rural microfinance institution operating in three states was managing over 15,000 active loans through pen-and-paper registers and Excel sheets. With most borrowers located in villages with poor internet access and low financial literacy, the organization faced growing difficulties in managing disbursals, EMI collections, and credit tracking.
2. The Challenge
Loan officers traveled to remote locations to disburse funds, collect repayments, and update client records. This led to data inaccuracies, missed EMI updates, and poor visibility into loan performance. Audits became time-consuming, and loan default rates were rising. Moreover, as the firm sought funding from investors, it needed a digital backbone to prove transparency and scale.

Warke Technologies conducted field visits with loan officers and interviewed rural borrowers to design a system that worked in low-connectivity environments and supported regional languages. The solution needed to handle end-to-end lending—from application to closure—while remaining simple enough for use by both the field agents and the back-office team.
We adopted a mobile-first approach to empower field agents and designed lightweight interfaces optimized for entry-level Android devices.
