Case Study
Multi-Vendor E-Commerce Marketplace for Regional Artisans and SMEs
1.Client Background
A government-backed entrepreneurship mission aimed at promoting local artisans, tribal handicrafts, and small-scale manufacturers wanted to launch an online platform. The goal was to empower underrepresented vendors with limited digital literacy to reach national and international customers, especially in the post-pandemic recovery phase.
The platform needed to support multi-language product listings, regional logistics, and seller training modules, all while competing with mainstream marketplaces in user experience.
2. The Challenge
Many vendors had never used a computer, let alone uploaded product SKUs. Product photography was inconsistent, pricing data was messy, and delivery logistics were informal. The biggest challenge was creating an inclusive system that was powerful for tech-savvy users, but accessible for digitally disadvantaged sellers. Admins also needed tools to vet sellers, approve listings, and monitor disputes in real time.
3. Our Approach
Warke Technologies launched an inclusive UX research initiative in rural and semi-urban zones. We created wireframes optimized for low-end Android devices, included voice-input support in key areas, and added seller onboarding wizards with tutorial videos in multiple languages. Admins were given rich moderation tools and logistics teams were synced via API with regional couriers.
We followed a modular approach, building the marketplace with flexibility for future B2B extensions and digital exports.
